WELCOME

Welcome to “whichwayshallivote” and thank you for dropping in. I hope this site is helpful to you as you work out where to put your crosses on October 19th. The picture is from South Africa . . . .

This site is being written now. If you want to be tipped off when new material is published, then go to the subscription area at the foot of the right hand sidebar on this page and sign up.

My name is Daniel Wimberley.  This site will try to give you:

  • key information, for example, on which way existing States members voted on the big issues
  • “tell it like it is” – a true and accurate account of what really goes on in the States
  • pointers to what needs to be done in order to put things right.

Why are “standards of behaviour in the States slipping?”

Why is States spending ‘out of control’ ?

If we are spending so much how come Clinique Pinel was neglected for 10 years?

I try to get behind the myths and give the real answers to these questions. I hope you visit again.

  1. As I left the St John senatorial hustings meeting on 4 October Daniel was passing out a paper which read, “Take A look at…” and it went on to promote this website. So I did take a look and, disappointingly, there was nothing to see. A week on and I thought, take another look, and still there really is not much more to see.

I should have thought a site titled whichwayshallivote would be devoted to providing advice and guidance as to how one should vote; instead there’s just a lot of tired old stuff about the energy from waste plant.

  2. There is more now, John. I hope you agree on the importance of honest communications? It is very costly, and dangerous, when the people mistrust their government, and more importantly, it means that facing problems together is just not possible.

I now have some votes on key issues, and I think a commenter has linked to a site where many more votes are available for people to view

I will soon write on the biggest lie of all – the whole spinning of the facts around the expenditure of the States, which has been done to make rational and proper debate on this topic almost impossible.

    Daniel
